Herman Pekel developed an appreciation of contemporary technique at RMIT, under the guidance of artists like Dale Hickey, Jeff Makin and Clifton Pugh. Herman’s emphasis is always on technique, and his paintings reflect his excitement in the process of painting. This motivation has produced exceptional images in watercolour and oils, earning him over a hundred major awards.
