Marco Luccio

Drypoints & etchings


Marco Luccio is an award-winning artist whose work is represented in over 24 major public collections both nationally and internationally.

As a professional full time artist he has held 35 major solo exhibitions, exhibited in over 150 group, curated and award shows and received several commissions.

His work has been shortlisted for many major awards including the 2010 and 2009 Dobell and the 2013 Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing.

Luccio has been collected in various private, public and corporate collections, including the New York Public Library, the Museum of the City of New York, the New York Historical Society and the National Gallery of Australia.

In addition, Luccio has completed artist residencies and study travel trips in New York, Paris and Italy. He has given many guest lectures throughout Australia and overseas, including the Art Students League of New York and the Printmaking Centre of New Jersey. He has taught drawing, painting and printmaking at various institutions including ongoing classes at the National Gallery of Victoria.

Luccio’s work is represented in many publications including a feature and front cover of The Art of Being Melbourne 2012, and a feature in Piranesi's Grandest Tour. In 2013 Luccio collaborated with award-winning author John Hughes to create the book, ‘The Garden of Sorrows’, which features 60 of Luccio’s etchings.

In 2010 Marco Luccio was invited to exhibit his solo show, ‘International Cities’, at the Australian Consulate General in New York.
