Meet Marco Luccio at Metropolis Gallery 2.30pm Friday 5th Feb. for a glass of wine and a chat about his series of bridges.

Metropolis Gallery presents Marco Luccio: Bridges, showcasing expressive drypoints, etchings and drawings of bridges, including his highly collected images of Sydney Harbour Bridge.

These powerful works were inspired by the etchings of Jessie Traill and are presented alongside Luccio’s bridges from Paris, Florence and New York, to coincide with Geelong Gallery’s excellent current exhibition: Stars in the river – the prints of Jessie Traill (A National Gallery of Australia exhibition).

Marco Luccio is an award-winning artist whose work is represented in over 40 public and corporate collections nationally and internationally, including the New York Public Library, the Museum of the City of New York and the National Gallery of Australia.

As a professional full time artist Luccio has held 43 major solo exhibitions, including a major solo show, ‘International Cities’, at the Australian Consulate General in New York, exhibited in over 150 group, curated and award shows and received several commissions.

His work has been shortlisted for many major awards including twice for the Dobell Prize for Drawing as well as the 2013 Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing.
