It is with some sadness that we announce the sudden passing late last year of Kwementyaye Taylor (1940 - 2014), whose beautiful watercolours have for several years been a wonderful part of our exhibitions of works by the current generations of Hermannsburg Watercolour Artists.

The recent aquisition by AIATSIS* of his major work Running Waters at Tempe Downs is testament to this artist's enduring talent.

*The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) is the national research and collecting institution for information and research about the cultures and societies of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, past and present.

Geelong Picture Framers at Metropolis Gallery

Geelong Picture Framers is a busy custom-framing workshop located upstairs at Metropolis Gallery. We specialise in the conservation framing of paintings and works on paper, sentimental family treasures and memorabilia. We stretch canvases and also frame everything from posters and paintings to football jumpers and other 3D objects.

We’ll help select a frame that not only enhances the work: it’s important that the frame, matt, backing board and glass help to preserve it for many years to come.

Geelong Picture Framers turn your pictures into art!
