Mary Constance Black interprets the beauty and fragility of the environment
in her paintings, particularly the ocean and its tidal zone.
The paintings in this show are part of her “Rock Pool Fantasia” series,
and begin as texture and form, over which many translucent colours are layered, achieving exciting effects of surface depth.
